Derrick is a crewman aboard Queen Anne’s Revenge in the search of Fountain of Youth. He took part in the mutiny before Blackbeard woke up and came out of his cabin. He was drowned by mermaids at Whitecap Bay and got eaten by them underwater, but he survived in the game.
